Copy Database

This form allows you to copy a database with all or specified parts of its data.


To copy the database:

Enter a name for the new database.  The name must not already have been used for a Wildlife Recorder database.  The database name may contain only characters a-z, 0-9, space - and _

Select the data to be copied from the options.

Click the OK button to perform the copy.

The options "Locations only with empty species table" and "Locations and Observers only with empty species table" create a database with an empty species table which can be changed using the taxonomy editor.  This option is intended for use in creating a database for a new taxa.

The options "Locations only with species table from template" and "Locations and Observers only with species table from template" create a database with an empty species table which will be updated with the latest species update for the relevant table  This option is intended for use in creating a database and replacing a user modifiied species table with the standard database template.  The first time the new database is opened it will be updated with the latest taxonomy update for the relevant template e.g. Birds.
